Description: Executive function (EF), a cluster of cognitive control skills, emerges in the preschool years to heavily influence early school, life, and social success by undergirding both self-regulatory and learning capacities. Occupational therapists working with children play a central role in recognizing how executive dysfunction impacts daily life. This webinar will explore typical EF developmental trajectories, identify populations at particular risk, and will then explore a variety of strategies for home and school. By enhancing hot and cool EF capacity, care providers can assist the child be in sync socially and behaviorally, and on track developmentally. Useful resources will be highlighted.
