ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Lara Anderson

Cerebral visual impairment (CVI) is the leading cause of visual impairment in the United States and much of the world. It is often masked by other comorbidities and its diagnosis is not straight forward yet its impact on daily activities is very significant. Now more than ever, people from around the world are developing expertise in this field, which is resulting in new tools and resources families can access to understand more about how their child uses their vision and the impact that the environment and our approach can support the learning and development for children with CVI. It is important that therapists working in all areas of practice can help to identify when CVI may be impacting daily activities and support the approaches that reduce the impact of this diagnosis.

This webinar will provide an overview the definition and causes of cerebral visual impairment (CVI), as well as the features of CVI assessment. This webinar will also explore various strategies and environmental modifications to support families with children with CVI in daily activities.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe what cerebral visual impairment (CVI) is and the possible impact on daily activities.
  2. Familiarize with the type of information you may gain from getting a CVI assessment completed.
  3. Describe simple strategies and environmental modifications that can support a child in daily activities.
