ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that impacts individuals across the lifespan. The scientific understanding of ADHD has been rapidly changing ever since it was first recognized as a disorder. As a result, there is an unfortunate amount of misunderstanding, misinformation, controversy, and societal stigma about ADHD. More recent scientific studies have been shaping a more effective and complex picture about the unique brain differences and needs of individuals diagnosed with ADHD.
