Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Amy Burt and Cassaundra Corbett-Miller

A strengths-based approach is an evidenced-based framework to support children and caregivers in achieving their best outcomes (American Occupational Therapy Association, 2012). Occupational therapists can use strengths-based feeding approaches to support children experiencing a feeding disorder while increasing parent involvement and carryover in the home.

This webinar will explore a strengths-based approach for feeding therapy focusing on the child and caregiver. Utilizing occupational theories and frameworks, a collaborative approach in an outpatient pediatric clinic will also be described.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe a model of pediatric strengths-based feeding intervention.
  2. Identify the value and relationship of strengths-based approaches to occupational therapy.
  3. Recognize the value of a team-based approach to benefit the child and family.
