ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE
Presented by: Dr. Carol Lambdin-Pattavina
Taking a granularized view of mental health challenges and interventions is a disservice to those with lived experience. In order to best support people to craft a life of their design, we must step back to see the intersections between psychiatric labels, attachment trauma, traumatizing systems of care, and social norms that create no space for neurodiverse human experience.
This webinar will provide a brief overview of attachment and trauma. Intersections between the many and varied manifestations of attachment trauma and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR) diagnoses will be explored. Evidence linking attachment trauma and any number of psychiatric labels will be presented. Medical versus social perspectives of mental illness will also be explored. Finally, implications for occupational therapy intervention at the micro, meso, and macro levels will be presented, including Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy (MERIT), Remotivation Process, trauma-sensitive practices, and advocacy for systemic change.
After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:
