Long COVID assessment and intervention for occupational therapists: Learning from lived experience (December 5, 2023)
Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Katie Kitchen

It is estimated that 1.4 million Canadians currently live with Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS), otherwise known as long COVID. Despite the diverse skill sets and expertise held by occupational therapists, there has been a fragmented approach to knowledge translation in supporting the assessment and management of PACS symptoms in occupational therapy practice.

This webinar will share a first-hand lived experience of PACS, including navigation of health care and occupational therapy services. Practical assessment resources, informed by commonly experienced symptoms, will be reviewed to support occupational therapy assessment of PACS and support therapeutic interventions. Strategies for providing therapeutic interventions to support occupational participation will be described.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify practical strategies to assess symptoms of Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS).
  2. Describe therapeutic interventions to facilitate the occupational participation of persons living with PACS.
  3. Reflect upon future learning needs to support occupational therapy practice in the assessment and management of PACS.
