Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Dr. Sorayya Askari

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is more common in Canada than in many other countries, with one of the highest prevalence rates in the world (Nana et al., 2017). As cognitive fatigue is a common symptom of MS, occupational therapists frequently encounter individuals with this condition. Cognitive fatigue can affect a person's ability to perform daily activities, work, and participate in valued occupations (e.g., Mc Auliffe & Hynes, 2019). Occupational therapists can provide tailored strategies and interventions to address these challenges. Understanding cognitive fatigue in MS is essential for Canadian occupational therapists to provide comprehensive and effective care, enhance the quality of life for individuals with MS, and contribute to advancements in the field.

In this webinar, participants will learn about the diverse dimensions of fatigue experienced by individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS), as well as how people with MS describe their experience with cognitive fatigue. Participants will also gain insight into the contributing factors that exacerbate cognitive fatigue in MS and what evidence-based strategies are recommended for effectively managing cognitive fatigue in individuals with MS.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify various facets of fatigue in multiple sclerosis (MS).
  2. Recognize the key factors that exacerbate cognitive fatigue in MS.
  3. Develop a list of evidence-based interventions for effectively addressing cognitive fatigue associated with MS.
