Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Breanna Adkin

Infants and toddlers who experience Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are more at risk for developmental delay and developing mental and physical health concerns later in life (e.g., Morgart et al., 2021; Webster, 2022). Occupational therapy professionals are uniquely situated to address infant/toddler mental health with their background and expertise in social-emotional development and assessing environmental facilitators and barriers.

This webinar will describe and define infant/toddler mental health and the role occupational therapists play in addressing infant/toddler mental health. The participants and presenter will explore problem-solving methods to further understand the underlying facilitators and barriers of the family unit. Finally, participants will explore and develop methods for assessing and intervening with social-emotional delay and relationships between infants, toddlers, and their families.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate and demonstrate strategies to positively influence social, emotional, and behavioural health in infants, toddlers, and their families.
  2. Identify and address risk factors for mental and physical health problems for children and families living in rural and urban communities.
