Description: Infants and children with gastrointestinal issues are often referred to occupational therapy due to poor oral feeding and it can be challenging to determine the underlying cause of the feeding problems. This webinar will describe the unique clinical features of different gastrointestinal issues and how to differentiate between these and other types of feeding problems. Medical and nutritional interventions will be described to enable the therapist to be an informed advocate when interacting with other members of the health care team. In addition, occupational therapy interventions that are effective in managing this challenging group of patients will be discussed.
