Occupational Therapist - Clinical Leads, Adult Physical Medicine and Geriatric Health

Among other roles, you will provide advice, consultation and expertise related to the Occupational Therapy profession. You will provide joint visits with other Occupational Therapists and Service Providers to give input for performance reviews and to support Occupational Therapists and Service Providers who face clinically challenging situations. You will provide clinical orientation for new Occupational Therapists and Service Providers or those changing clinical areas, and mentor groups for new grads or those new to the community setting. You will identify, promote, and participate in best practice initiatives reflective of the requirements of the evolving health care system. You will also meet regularly with the Supervisor, Rehab Best Practice. You will act as a resource in the implementation and interpretation of discipline-specific professional standards of practice, contribute to the development of standards of practice, clinical policies and procedures relevant to the profession.

Occupational Therapist Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized program for Occupational Therapy.
  • Member of the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Extensive experience within the professional discipline.
  • Specialized courses to support areas of clinical expertise.
  • Knowledge of community care requirements and resources available.
  • Must be ADP Authorized.

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, planning and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the standards of practice of the relevant professional body.
  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Excellent consultation, teaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
