Rehab First Inc., is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation assessment and treatment company specializing in, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language therapy, social work counselling, rehabilitation therapy, complex case management and life care planning. Occupational therapists working with Rehab First have the opportunity to treat children, adolescents and adults who have serious injuries and illnesses such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, multiple orthopaedic injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, mental health issues and many other problematic injuries and conditions. Occupational therapists will have the support of a multidisciplinary team to address clients with varied conditions and emotional, cognitive and physical co-morbidities which stem from their injuries/impairments.

If you are a new graduate or an experienced occupational therapist and your ideal job includes; schedule flexibility, working in a predetermined catchment area, a high level of autonomy and self-direction with expertise and support when required, then Rehab First has an hourly position for you north of the Barrie area including Orillia, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, and Parry Sound region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop treatment plans under Ontario’s Statutory Accident Benefit regulations (SAB’s)
  • Discharge planning
  • In-Home assessments
  • Attendant care assessments
  • On-site workplace and ergonomic assessments
  • Return to work strategies and plans
  • Complex injury management
  • Assistive device recommendations

Key Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Experience in a health care setting with preferred experience in the community is an asset but not required
  • Clinical experience with head trauma and brain injury is an asset
  • Superior communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Self motivated and demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload
  • Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check

All applicants must also have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel.
