Experience working in occupational therapy, with direct involvement in providing occupational therapist / therapy services for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Experience assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient-centered occupational therapy programs.
Knowledge of best practice standards and patient safety in the application of occupational therapy.

Registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) as a practicing or provisional member, or registered in another province with the ability to obtain registration in Manitoba prior to hire. Where the candidate is provisionally registered as an examination candidate, to maintain employment with the Centre, he/she must pass the examination required by COTM during the next available exam offering.
Duties: The occupational therapist is responsible for assessment, co-ordination, clinical supervision and evaluation of services, which focus on providing interactive occupational and/or developmental activities for recipients. The incumbent will ensure that therapeutic interventions delegated to service providers/support networks is consistent with professional standards of Occupational Therapy practice. This position involves participation in the Centre's Performance and Quality Improvement Program and the Accreditation process and makes recommendations to improve the structure and process of the program service delivery model.
