Your Role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide clinical care services for residents/clients (Long Term Care and Home Care) with physical, cognitive, social and/or emotional impairments. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing direct care and consultations to enhance, maintain, improve, or restore the ability of residents/clients to participate in meaningful self-care, leisure, and productive activities. In addition to planning, directing, delivering, and evaluating services through direct assessment, interventions, consultations, and assignment of task components to Therapy Assistants, you will provide training to Continuing Care staff.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Qualified for full registration with a Canadian Occupational Therapy regulatory authority
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist providing assessments and treatments in a community environment and a long-term care setting is an asset
  • Experience supervising support staff is an asset

  • Ability to supervise, and provide leadership for, support staff
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with an emphasis on Yukon First Nations culture

Conditions of Employment: Have and maintain current registration with an Occupational Therapy regulatory body from any Canadian Jurisdiction, RCMP Security Clearance with vulnerable sectors, valid Class 5 driver’s licence, WHMIS 2015, CPR level C, and TB screening.
