Occupational Therapist – Collingwood, ON (Part time to start)

This role is specifically intended for an experienced practitioner (3 + years preferred) who is familiar and comfortable working in the following areas: auto insurance, long term disability and WSIB with a keen interest in both mental and physical health. Lifemark Collingwood Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre will serve as the home-base for the in-clinic work.

Lifemark Collingwood Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre is the largest physiotherapy rehabilitation centre in the Georgian Triangle area and has been servicing the community since 1991. This is a great opportunity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team of highly experienced physiotherapy, chiropractic, kinesiology, and massage therapy professionals.

Responsibilities include:
  • In clinic interdisciplinary assessments and treatment planning
  • Community based assessments to address client safety, attendant care other and ADLs
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations (both physical and cognitive)
  • Job demands analyses (both physical and cognitive) and ergonomic assessments
  • Job coaching, workplace accommodation and return to work planning
  • Pre-employment assessments
  • Insurer’s examinations addressing accident benefit entitlement
  • Medical legal assessments
  • Networking with all stakeholders (both internal and external) to promote OT programs
  • Regular, qualitative report writing and communication with team and stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Attendance at staff meetings and participation in case conferences and case management

  • Registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Current knowledge of auto insurance legislation and regulations
  • Community/related experience in auto sector legislation including performing Insurer’s Examinations
  • Keen interest in assessment and management of clients with various cognitive and mental health challenges
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and as part of the team
  • Possess superior time management and organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
