Occupational Therapist

We’re looking for an occupational therapist with strong clinical experience in mental health and return-to-work planning. You’ll join our Special Care Services team for a temporary assignment of approximately 10 months, on a full-time basis with a flexible Monday-to-Friday work schedule that works for you and your clients.

In this role, you’ll be a clinical resource and a member of an interdisciplinary case management team that is committed to providing high quality service to workers who have sustained psychological injuries. Experience with treatment approaches such as exposure therapy and motivational interviewing is an asset.

What you’ll do
As an occupational therapist – clinical advisor you will:

  • Assist injured workers to overcome the challenges associated with mental health and return-to-work
  • Complete job site visits and job demands analyses
  • Lead return-to-work meetings with workers, unions, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and monitor gradual return-to-work plans

  • Educate, consult, and motivate others and act as a resource to co-workers
  • Build and maintain trusting and cooperative working relationships with individuals and organizations in an environment that is often adversarial
  • Work in a computerized environment using Microsoft software


Your background and experience:

  • Full registration and current membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
  • A minimum of five years of clinical OT experience that includes a combination of mental health and return-to-work planning
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
