Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy Awards

Through its awards program, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists seeks to:

  • Recognize and honour outstanding contributions of individuals and groups to the Association and the profession
  • Promote and recognize excellence in occupational therapy
  • Recognize outstanding contributions to the promotion of occupation and participation among Canadians
  • Increase public awareness of both the achievements of the individual recipients and the profession as a whole
  • Inspire others through publicizing the achievements of recipients

To meet these objectives, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists offers the following awards through a call for nominations:

For the purpose of the awards program, the following definitions apply:

  • Significant = noteworthy or important
  • Exceptional = reflecting a high degree of ability or skill
  • Outstanding = superior, pre-eminent or exemplary

All nominators must be members in good standing with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.

Award nomination deadlines is December 1st.

For all awards the nominee:

  • must meet all the criteria set out in the individual award policies
  • must not be a current Board member or employee of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
  • need not be a resident in Canada if the achievements for which they are nominated have relevance to Canadian occupational therapy and they meet the other criteria for the award
