Topic: Enabling Health-Self Management in Mental Health Care 

Description: In this session, we will discuss managing health with a mental health condition. Specifically, we will discuss evidence-based evaluation and treatment for medication adherence, diet, and physical activity for clients with mental health conditions. 

Presenter: Dr. Jaclyn Schwartz is an occupational therapist in Miami, Florida, USA. She received her Master’s in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and her PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. She has worked across the continuum of care from intensive care to home health with both children and adults. Currently, Dr. Schwartz is an assistant professor at Florida International University. There, she teaches the psychosocial curriculum for the Master’s in Occupational Therapy program. Dr. Schwartz’s research focuses on empowering people with disabilities to live healthy productive lives through improved assistive technology and health self-management skills.
