Register by Monday, November 05, 2018 at 11: 00 AM ET

Presenters: Dean Henderson

Occupational therapists are often the profession that is proposing change within health care to improve client safety and quality of care. Too often changes are made without baseline data, measuring or aims. This webinar will provide occupational therapist clinicians and practice leaders with a primer on quality improvement (QI) and how to apply it to current and future work in order to effectively lead change. An overview of QI tools will be provided and case examples will be utilized to demonstrate how to lead change in a variety of health care settings.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will:
  1. Understand healthcare quality at a systems level.
  2. Have a baseline knowledge about quality improvement models use.
  3. Have a baseline knowledge of quality improvement (QI) tools (cause and effect diagrams, change concepts and Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles).
  4. Understand the three QI measures (process, outcome and balancing) and practice creating them.
