Alternative Driving Methods for People with Muscle Weakness

Complex rehab power wheelchairs support a host of features, including alternative driving methods, power seating and customizable programming. These features are essential for many clients with muscle weakness. This webinar will explore proportional and digital driving methods which require less active range of motion and force for use with this population. Programming tips to reduce effort and fatigue will also be discussed. Case studies will also be included.

- Describe 3 clinical implications of muscle weakness on use of a power wheelchair standard joystick.
- Identify 3 alternative proportional access methods applicable to muscle weakness.
- Identify 3 alternative non-proportional access methods applicable to muscle weakness.
