Title
Health Promotion - An Opportunity for Growth and Development within the Occupational Therapy Profession
Description
Description:

Occupational therapy practice is evolving to offer service via family health teams. As such, an opportunity exists for therapists to adopt more preventive, and group-based services within this new role. Health promotion knowledge would serve therapists in transitioning into this new domain and represents a broader, and perhaps, more holistic approach to practice. This webinar will introduce health promotion and the guiding principles; discuss similarities with occupational therapy, and then explore an example of health promotion in action within the occupational therapy field. The webinar will conclude with a brief overview of placements and training in health promotion.
