Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Judith Mendoza

Sleep is an essential part of physical and mental wellness. It has an impact on all areas of function and on our quality of life. Many of the clients seen by occupational therapists experience disruption to their sleep due to pain, illness and/or trauma.
For this reason it's important for occupational therapists to be able to provide effective evidence-based interventions for difficulties with sleep.

This webinar will provide a brief overview of the sleep process in the body along with a summary of sleep hygiene strategies to support good quality sleep in adults. Participants will gain a better understanding of: how much sleep an adult needs; the role of the body clock and impact of sleep drive. In this context, healthy sleep behaviours will be discussed along with those habits that can interfere with sleep.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will:

  1. Have a basic understanding of the sleep process in the body.
  2. Be able to identify habits and behaviours that promote good sleep.
  3. Be able to recognize habits and behaviours that interfere with sleeping well.
