We have opportunities for entitlement officers in our Worker and Employer Services division to provide timely, exceptional customer service by making entitlement decisions on claims, managing health care benefits, and answering questions about claim decisions.
Our entitlement officers come from a variety of backgrounds: kinesiology, occupational therapy, nursing, social work, immigration, human resources, education, insurance, and finance. If you are committed to providing compassionate service and have experience making well-reasoned decisions by applying law and policy, we have entitlement officer positions available in Kelowna, Prince George, and Victoria. What you’ll do
As an entitlement officer you will:
Gather information by telephone and in person, analyze information to determine relevant facts, and weigh evidence to make reasoned decisions in a timely manner
Review medical documentation and other evidence to determine the eligibility of workers for compensation benefits
Communicate verbally and in writing to workers, employers, health care providers, and other representatives to ensure that entitlement decisions are delivered and clearly understood
Support injured workers in their recovery by arranging short-term disability benefit payments and appropriate treatment
Ensure employers have an early return-to-work process in place

Take initiative in complex matters
Make decisions when there may be disagreement
Work both independently and in a team environment
Your experience and educational background
A post-secondary diploma or degree in business, healthcare, communications, science, or a related discipline
A minimum of 18 months of experience involving independent decision-making, and applying law and/or policy
A valid driver’s license
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
