Occupational Therapist - Lifemark Harwood & Clements - Ajax, ON (Full-time)

This position is an exciting opportunity for someone that enjoys working within different clinical settings, as well as community based work.

This position will be based out of Lifemark Physiotherapy Harwood & Clements and will involve travel to other Lifemark clinics in Pickering & Whitby.

This role is specifically intended for a practitioner who is familiar and comfortable working in the following areas: auto insurance, long term disability and WSIB with a keen interest in both mental and physical health.

Our clinics have a highly experienced staff with a variety of skills to meet the needs of our clients and deliver excellent outcomes. We offer specialized programs and a collaborative approach to assessment and management of concussion, mental health, musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, pelvic health, cancer rehabilitation, and a variety of other chronic conditions.

Responsibilities include:
  • In clinic interdisciplinary assessments and treatment planning
  • Community based assessments to address client safety, attendant care other and ADLs and IADLs
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations (both physical and cognitive)
  • Job demands analyses (both physical and cognitive), job coaching and return to work planning
  • Ergonomic assessments and education to clients on ergonomic principles
  • Insurer’s examinations
  • Educational sessions/presentations to stakeholders
  • Pre-employment assessments
  • Attendance at staff meetings and participation in case conferences and case management
  • Regular report writing and charting in a timely manner, communication with team and stakeholders
  • Networking with all stakeholders (both internal and external) to promote OT programs

  • Registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Community/related experience in auto sector legislation is considered an asset
  • Keen interest in assessment and management of clients with various physical and mental health challenges
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and as part of the team
  • Possess superior time management and organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
