CBI Health Center Surrey-Fleetwood is looking for a full time Occupational Therapist to join our team in our Pain Management Program, Occupational Rehabilitation, and Trauma Programs. Reporting to the Practice Leader, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing services within the Program. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician looking for an interdisciplinary rehabilitation environment focused on assessing and treating adult clients within a work-rehabilitation context.

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide an accurate, detailed assessment prior to the client's entrance into the program.
  •  Development of an individual occupational therapy functional rehabilitation program for each client based on the client’s needs, derived from the interdisciplinary assessment, referrer and employer stakeholders, and the client’s personal goals.
  •  Provide client education, job site visits, graduated return to work plans and, job coaching.
  •  Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and/or client-care planning.
  •  Co-ordinate rehabilitation interventions and programs with the client and the other members of the team.
  •  Provide timely reassessment and follow-up assessments as needed to assure progress towards goals, self-efficacy, self- management, and durability of return to work or success in vocational rehabilitation plans.

Qualifications:

  •  Be registered as a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC
  •  Previous experience as a member of a multidisciplinary team and past clinical placement or related work experience working with third party referred clients (WSBC, LTD, ICBC) with a return to work focus of rehabilitation is considered an asset
  •  Be passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
  •  Thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  •  Be dedicated to providing the highest quality of client care
  •  Bring strong clinical skills in one or more of the following: occupational or vocational rehabilitation, chronic pain, mental health
  •  Have strong skills in critical thinking, decision-making and analysis
  •  Have excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to work independently
  •  Be comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  •  Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Be empathetic with an effective ability to build rapport with patients
  •  Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word
  •  Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
