High Prairie School Division is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide support to school-aged children. The Occupational Therapist will visit schools, mainly within the Slave Lake area, to observe, assess and make recommendations to teachers, assistants and parents.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience up to $101,100.00. Generous benefit package available.   Position will closely follow the school calendar and is scheduled to commence August 25, 2020.

Qualifications:
  • Masters in Occupational Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
  • Current registration with CAOT
  • Previous experience working with children is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct standardized assessments and clinical consultations
  • Report writing
  • Assess fine and gross motor skill development, as well as sensory processing and regulation
  • Design and implement interventions
  • Consult with education staff and multi-disciplinary team to implement effective strategies and therapeutic interventions
  • Champion the success of all students by promoting universal supports
  • Provide in-servicing and professional development to staff

Requirements:
  • The successful candidate must produce an original, acceptable, recent (less than six months old) Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
  • Three (3) professional references are required.
