Occupational Therapist

1 – regular, full-time and 1 – temporary, full-time (14-months)

George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is a paediatric health facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario providing occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, social work, recreation, and behaviour support services to children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs.  We are currently seeking a talented occupational therapist to work as part of our collaborative, interdisciplinary team.

Reporting to the Manager, Client Services, our occupational therapists work as part of collaborative multi-disciplinary teams.  Responsibilities include assessment, development and monitoring of treatment programs, consultation with parents/caregivers and other service providers, and assistance with resource needs.  Some travel within the City and District of Thunder Bay may be required.

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with clients and members of an inter-disciplinary client care team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Previous experience working with children;
  • Ability to be creative and flexible with service provision;
  • Hold a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle;
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector screening
