Award of Merit
The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists acknowledges significant contributions to the profession by occupational therapists and non-occupational therapists through its prestigious service award called the Award of Merit.

Marlene Stern
Marlene is recognized for her significant contributions to the profession through her championing of numerous new occupational positions in Manitoba and innovative roles in existing departments. She has been a visionary leader in the occupational therapy community provincially as well as nationally.
Angie Phenix and Kaarina Valavaara
Angie and Kaarina are recognized for their significant contributions to the profession through their work in response to the issues faced by Indigenous clients and therapists in Canada. They have become leaders through their publications, education and service to CAOT. Their voices are sought and respected within our profession.
