Join CAOT President Catherine Backman, Board of Directors and national staff for an informal town hall meeting. This get-together will provide members with a brief Association update followed by the opportunity to discuss emerging issues or to voice concerns and preferences for CAOT activities.

Plenary Panel: Common aims, uncommon words: The language of mental health

Occupational therapists use everyday engagement in meaningful activity to improve mental health and increase participation in daily life. In other areas of health care, the terms social prescriptions and behavioural activation are used for this but as occupational therapists, we know this as occupational engagement. Read more.

COTF Breakfast with a Scholar: Karen Whalley Hammel

COTF’s Breakfast with a Scholar is an event where COTF highlights relevant research. It is a great opportunity to hear about exciting research, ask questions of the researcher and support COTF! This year, COTF is pleased to announce that Karen Whalley Hammell from Saskatoon has been chosen as the scholar. A portion of the ticket sales is a donation to COTF. Read more.

Closing lunch and Featured Speaker - Neal Kewistep

While enjoying a delectable plated luncheon, closing ceremonies will take place including highlighting next year's conference location. Our featured speaker follows closing ceremonies.

Neal Kewistep will address conference delegates as our Featured Speaker at this year’s conference closing luncheon.  Neal is a proud member of Fishing Lake First Nations and fled from a residential school as a boy – never to return. Read more.
