The Occupational Therapy and Indigenous Health Practice Network (OTIHN) ended September 2023 after 10 years of providing leadership, networking and support for occupational therapists collaborating with Indigenous clients and communities across Canada. The OTIHN consisted of CAOT members with an interest in building capacity, lobbying for occupational therapy services, and generating a greater discourse on occupational therapy and Indigenous Peoples’ health in Canada. CAOT expresses its gratitude to co-chairs Angie Phenix and Kaarina Valavaara for their dedication and commitment to the network since its inception and their ongoing volunteerism.

CAOT remains committed to supporting practice in Indigenous health and is actively working on ways to support occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, and students. Please see a collection of resources related to Truth and Reconciliation.
