Topic: “Ready, Set, Regulate”
Description: During this session, we will look at the “Ready, Set, Regulate” program developed in Coquitlam school district. This includes a self evaluation tool for students, the structures and routines used in our self-regulation classrooms (formerly known as sensory rooms) and the use of sensory pathways as a universal design tool for all students.
Presenter: Lynda Swain has been employed at Sunny Hill Health Centre for the past 31 years and contracted to the Coquitlam School district for 22 of those years. In addition to a clinical caseload, she has been lucky enough to have had extra funding for the past 5 years to focus on self-regulation. Capacity building, development of resources and supporting classroom initiatives has been her primary focus during this time.
