Collaboratively moving knowledge into practice in stroke care

Register by Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 10:59 a.m. (Eastern Time)

Presenters: Fatima Quraishi & Michelle Mohan

Although evidence-based practices in stroke care have been well established, significant gaps in knowledge translation1 and variations in practice continue to exist.  Furthermore, a need for profession-specific best practice summaries1 was identified by the Canadian Stroke Strategy in 2013.

This webinar will review how a community of occupational therapists working in stroke care can influence practice and inform larger system changes. The development process of best practice tools, which can be adapted and utilized across Canada, will be shared.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand how a community of stroke occupational therapy leaders can influence practice and inform larger system changes.
  2. Understand and apply the process of standardizing and implementing occupational therapy-specific best practice tools across organizations.
  3. Navigate the Virtual Community of Practice to access occupational therapy best practice tools for stroke care.
