Topic: Handwriting Intervention for School-Aged Children using Printing Like a Pro! - Research Findings, Application and Updates 

Presenter: Ivonne is an Occupational Therapist at Sunny Hill Health Center for Children with many years of clinical pediatric experience as well as in her role as a knowledge broker. She has been working in a school district contract for over 15 years which lead to her interest in handwriting difficulties. She recently completed her Masters of Rehab Science degree from UBC. She completed two research studies focusing on the free online printing program that she co-developed with Dr. Jill Zwicker called Printing Like a Pro! 

Description: Current theory and evidence, including neuroimaging findings, for handwriting intervention for school-aged children will be presented. Additionally, the Printing Like a Pro! program will be reviewed including recent research study findings of use of the program in a school-based printing club and teacher perceptions of classroom use. Case studies of application of the program in school-based practice will be discussed. Participants will view program materials and discuss implementation of the program in their practice. Occupational therapists will become familiar with the Printing Like a Pro! program, gaining practical information that can be applied directly into pediatric practice
