Evidence-based approaches for occupational therapy in opioid addiction and pain management

Approximately one in five Canadians live with chronic pain, leading to calls for new, non-addictive and non-pharmacological treatments. Occupational therapists are uniquely qualified to provide holistic interventions that support the well-being of these individuals.

This webinar presents a framework and strategies for effective and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for pain management and opioid abuse, including lifestyle management, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and mind-body interventions.


After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the role of occupational therapy in addressing pain management and opioid and other substance use disorders.
  2. Identify evidence-based strategies and interventions for pain management and opioid and other substance use disorders.
  3. Identify resources to facilitate occupational participation of clients with chronic pain and/or substance use disorders.

CAOT will not provide a refund after the registration deadline. If you are unable to attend the Webinar live, all webinars are recorded and registrants receive access to the recording following the Webinar.

CAOT reserves the right to cancel or modify all events. If a Practice Evidence Webinar is cancelled by CAOT, you will receive an adjustment on your bundle (if credits were used) or a full refund.
