The Cognitive orientation of daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) is a client-centered, performance-based, problem-solving approach whose goal is to enable individuals to successfully perform everyday activities they want, need or are expected to perform. This evidence-based intervention has been used successfully with both children and adults with a variety of conditions (e.g., Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder (high functioning, stroke, traumatic brain injury).
This workshop will take place in two parts:
The first part of the workshop consists of four half days. The aim of this first part is to understand the theoretical foundations of the CO-OP approach and how to implement the approach.
The second part of the workshop consists of one consolidation half day that takes place 4 months following part one so as to permit participants to apply CO-OP in their work context, with their client population. The aim of the consolidation session is to provide an opportunity for the consolidation of skills.
