Post-Election Toolkit 2021 Cover Image Take action! Engage with your Member of Parliament with the Post-Election Toolkit

Two months after the 2021 Federal election, Parliament officially began on November 22, 2021, with a Liberal minority government. We have developed a Post-Election Toolkit to assist you in engaging with newly elected Members of Parliament to increase their awareness of the value of occupational therapy.

The Toolkit will help you find your Member of Parliament and connect with them using template letters, that you can customize, and sample social media posts. You can convey key messages and share facts about occupational therapy solutions on:

  • Long term care (LTC)
  • Aging in place
  • Mental health
  • Return to work
  • Long-COVID rehabilitation
  • Pediatric health and well-being

Every elected Member of Parliament plays an important role in influencing legislation, policies, programs and services, particularly in a minority government.  Please act, so that your clients and Canadians enjoy positive health and wellness outcomes through cost-effective occupational therapy solutions.

2021 Federal Election Playbook

The 2021 Federal Election Playbook

The federal election playbook was developed to help you engage with candidates and share the facts about occupational therapy as a solution to ballot box issues. Advocating for client needs is part of the quality care that OTs provide. Those skills can be applied to a broader social context by advocating for the profession in the lead-up to voting day.

Use your CAOT Federal Election Playbook 2021 to get the information and messages you need to be active on important issues for the health and wellbeing of communities across Canada.
