Occupational Therapist – Head Injury Program -Vancouver, BC (Full Time)

We are currently looking to add to our team of professionals in our Head Injury Assessment and Treatment Services (HIATS) Program.

Location: 181 Keefer Pl #230, Vancouver, BC V6B 6C1
Type of employment: Full-time 40 hours a week, employee status
Start date: ASAP

The successful OT candidate would be responsible for performing occupational therapy assessments, program planning, intervention, consultation, education, report writing, discharge planning, communication with appropriate stakeholders including fee payer and employers as well as program evaluation using recognized occupational therapy techniques and practices. Concussion management and/or Neuro experience is preferred.

Other responsibilities may include:
  • Interdisciplinary assessments and treatment planning
  • Work collaboratively with Medical Doctor and Neuro Psychologist
  • Case management
  • Job demands analyses/ job site visits
  • Lead educational sessions pertaining to symptom management strategies post injury to patients
  • Documenting clinical findings in accordance with the regulations of the provincial association of Occupational Therapists
  • Gradual Return to Work creation, implementation and monitoring
  • Cognitive assessment

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a fully Registered Occupational Therapist in a RTW focused treatment setting (preferred)
  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the provincial association of Occupational Therapists
  • Previous concussion management or Neuro treatment experience is required
  • Motivated clinician who enjoys working collaboratively to best serve clients’ needs and is passionate about joining a team of interdisciplinary professionals
